Oconei Inc. announced today, the launch of it's public hot spots deployment program for the United States. This service enables mobile access to the Internet via PCs and PDAs, making Oconei the premier Hotspot wholesaler in country.

Compatible with both the high-speed 802.11g standard and widely used 802.11b standard, Hotspots will be available in best-effort connection speeds of 54 Mbps (802.11g) or 11 Mbps (802.11b, Wi-Fi1 compatible products).

Wireless hotspots enable PC and PDA users to enjoy broadband Internet access in wireless environments. Users will simply require a WLAN card and WLAN-compatible terminal to use the service.

The prepaid access plans start from $7 for 1 hour of Internet access. Monthly subscriptions are also available for $25 providing unlimited Internet access in all Oconei hotspot locations.

Wireless hotspots will be deployed in several public locations, including cafes, hotels and public areas. Oconei hopes to increase the service locations to approximately 300, within this year, through direct sales and through Oconei's channel partners.
